ENACTED by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Board shall: Be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal; and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
The Board shall reward, promote and encourage academic excellence;
Develop human resources for manpower need of the nation;
Make education accessible to residents of the FCT;
Reduce rate of out-of-school students due to financial constraints;
Provide conducive, peaceful and friendly atmosphere for learning;
Provide accommodation for scholars in higher institutions;
Monitor and evaluate scholarship programmes;
Award 25% of the scholarship to original inhabitants of the FCT, 10% to each geo-political zone and 5% based on discretion of the Board.
