In a continued effort to cushion the effects of recent challenges and support community resilience, the Member representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has commenced the distribution of essential relief materials to constituents.
The items, provided by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), include staple food supplies such as rice, garri, spaghetti, cartons of tomatoes, seasoning cubes (Maggi), and other essentials. The distribution is timed to provide support to families during the sacred periods of Ramadan fasting and Easter, a time the Lawmaker described as an opportunity for sober reflection and spiritual renewal.
While overseeing the sharing of the materials across the constituency, Hon. Obika expressed profound appreciation to NEMA for its timely intervention and responsiveness to the needs of his people. He emphasized the vital importance of collaborative governance, calling for a stronger partnership between his office, federal agencies, and community stakeholders.
“This intervention by NEMA is deeply appreciated, but we must look beyond immediate relief,” Hon. Obika stated. “We are advocating for a sustained partnership to focus on rebuilding and reinforcing our critical infrastructure, particularly our schools. Education is the foundation of our future, and we must ensure that our children in AMAC and Bwari have safe and conducive environments to learn.”
The Lawmaker reiterated his commitment to facilitating both emergency support and long-term developmental projects that address the root causes of vulnerability in the Federal Capital Territory.
