Today, the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), Abuja, presided over by the Hon. Justice B.B. Kanyip, heard the case between Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika and the Federal Character Commission (FCC). The suit challenges the systemic exclusion of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from its rightful quota in federal civil service employment, a longstanding injustice against the original inhabitants of FCT.
Hon. Obika, representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and championing the cause of all original inhabitants of the FCT, is seeking judicial intervention to compel the FCC to rectify this imbalance.
His legal action underscores his unwavering commitment to equity, fairness, and the constitutional rights of FCT citizens to equal opportunities in federal recruitment.
