Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the working member Representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency FCT Abuja, visit to the Federal College of Education, Zuba, was a heartwarming moment for his scholarship students. Meeting their benefactor for the first time filled them with joy and gratitude.

The smiles and joy radiating from the students reflect the positive impact of Hon. Obika’s initiatives. His presence not only brought happiness but also served as a reminder that their determination to excell in life are valued and supported.

Hon. Obika, during his speech, emphasized on the importance of patriotism, selflessness, and hard work. Stressing that his action to this scholarship is not personal, but rather a duty to serve the people using government resources.

He further stressed that he ensured that the scholarship was given based on merit, without favoritism and encourages the students to remember that they were supported by someone who doesn’t know them initially, and to pay it forward when they have the opportunity.

The Joshua of AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency FCT Abuja, further emphasized that having a certificate is not enough; one must be able to defend their skills and work with integrity.

He therefore urges his students not to disappoint their families, communities, himself and themselves.

Hon. Obika promised to provide them bursary support of ₦500,000 by the end of the month, which he promised to continue to provide for them from time to time and also share educational materials to them through his Special Assistant on Education.

In his speech during the visit; “Your challenges are not ignored, I am committed to addressing them, remember that this initiative demonstrates that you don’t need to know someone to receive support. The funds used are government funds, not personal money. I am learning to utilize resources effectively, prioritizing the greater good. Also remember that, tomorrow you may hold public office; recall that a representative invested in your well-being, and strive to be patriotic to Nigeria.”

This encounter showcases Hon. Obika’s dedication to empowering the next generation and testament to his commitment to education and community development as he conveys a sense of responsibility, empathy, and hope for a better future and encouraged them to adopt a mindset of patriotism, hard work, integrity, and to make a positive impact in their communities.
