Today, March 8th, 2025, marked a significant and joyous occasion for the Jikwoyi community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member of the House of Representatives representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, commissioned a modern palace for the Esu of Jikwoyi. The palace, which was built and fully furnished by Hon. Obika, stands as a testament to his commitment to fulfilling promises made during his campaign.
The event was a moment of pride and celebration for the Esu of Jikwoyi’s royal dynasty and the entire community. Hon. Obika had pledged to construct a befitting palace for the traditional ruler during his campaign, and true to his word, he delivered on this promise in less than a year. The Esu of Jikwoyi, who has been on the throne for 29 years, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Obika, noting that no past or present leader had ever prioritized building a proper palace for him. Despite being in mourning following the recent passing of his wife, the Esu of Jikwoyi shared that the commissioning of the palace brought him some comfort during this difficult time.
