In a significant step towards fostering grassroots collaboration and inclusive governance, the Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, yesterday paid a high-level courtesy visit to the esteemed Royal Father, His Royal Highness, Etsu Kwali, Alhaji (Dr.) Ayedo Luka Nizassan III, in his palace.

The visit, marked by warmth and mutual respect, served as a platform for robust and fruitful discussions centered on the progress and welfare of the Original Inhabitants and residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

Hon. Obika was warmly received by the Etsu Kwali and his council of chiefs, where deliberations focused on key areas of critical importance to the people of FCT. The productive discourse highlighted several collaborative fronts:
Preservation of Cultural Heritage: Both leaders emphasized the urgent need to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the FCT, particularly the unique traditions and history of the Kwali people. They discussed initiatives to document and celebrate this heritage for future generations.
Agricultural Development: Recognizing agriculture as a cornerstone of the local economy, the discussions explored avenues for modernizing farming practices, providing farmers with improved inputs, and facilitating access to larger markets to boost food security and economic prosperity.
Education and Employment: Hon. Obika and the Etsu Kwali deliberated on strategies to enhance educational infrastructure, scholarship opportunities, and vocational training for the youth. A central theme was the creation of sustainable employment opportunities to harness the demographic potential of the people of FCT
Empowerment and Collaboration: The meeting reinforced the necessity for sustained empowerment programs and mutual collaboration between the legislative office and the traditional institution. This partnership is aimed at ensuring that government initiatives are effectively aligned with the genuine needs and aspirations of the people.

In his remarks, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika stated, “My visit to our revered Royal Father, the Etsu Kwali, is a testament to my commitment to inclusive and consultative representation. The traditional institution is a vital custodian of our people’s trust and culture. Our discussions today have been profoundly insightful, and I am reassured of our shared commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the residents and good people of FCT.

In his response, His Royal Highness, Etsu Kwali, Ayedo Luka Nizassan III, expressed his appreciation for the visit, commending Hon. Obika for his dedication and people-oriented approach. He pledged the continuous support and counsel of the traditional institution towards the success of the lawmaker’s people centric legislative agenda.

The visit concluded with a shared resolve to maintain an open channel of dialogue and a strong partnership, all dedicated to the peace, unity, and accelerated development of AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and the FCT at large.
