The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and Chairman, Nigeria-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, alongside the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and other distinguished Honourable Members, hosted a high-level Cuban delegation at the Deputy Speaker’s Guest House in Asokoro, Abuja.
The Cuban delegation was led by Hon. Fernando Gonzalez Liort, a prominent figure in Cuba’s political landscape. The cordial meeting served as a significant platform to reinforce the longstanding parliamentary friendship and bilateral cooperation between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Cuba.
The discussions focused on identifying and deepening synergies in critical sectors of mutual interest. Key areas highlighted for enhanced collaboration included Healthcare, where Cuba’s world-renowned medical expertise can partner with Nigeria’s health sector reforms; Agriculture, with an emphasis on food security and sustainable farming techniques; and Science, Technology, and Innovation, aiming to foster knowledge exchange and joint developmental projects.

Obika’s participation as the Chiarman, Nigeria-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group underscores his commitment to leveraging international partnerships for the benefit of his constituency and Nigeria at large and also his proactive approach to governance and his commitment to ensuring that the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and Nigeria at large benefit from valuable international partnerships.
