In a significant cultural ceremony yesterday, the Fulani community in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, conferred the traditional title of “Hasken Fulani Bwari” (The Light of the Fulani in Bwari) upon the Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika.

The event, which drew a vibrant crowd, was held in recognition of the lawmaker’s inclusive and transformative leadership. Community leaders expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Obika’s dedicated service and his proactive efforts to integrate and uplift the Fulani people within the constituency.

In their remarks, the community highlighted specific milestones of his representation, noting that no previous leader in the Federal Capital Territory had engaged with and recognized their community to such an extent. Among his cited contributions are: The appointment of Mr. Sani Abubakar Muhammad as his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Facilitating the employment of Mr. Abubakar Muhammad Sani at the National Assembly’s E-Library, Consistently providing empowerment opportunities and support to members of the Fulani community.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Obika thanked the community for the great honor and the trust reposed in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving all constituents without discrimination.

“I am profoundly grateful for this recognition,” he stated. “I have always been committed to shining a light on the needs and potential of every community in our constituency. Now, bearing this title of ‘Hasken Fulani Bwari,’ I pledge to redouble my efforts. The light will shine even brighter for inclusion, development, and unity.”

The turbaning ceremony stands as a testament to Hon. Obika’s bridge-building governance and his focus on equitable representation for all groups within the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency.
