The Member representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, was recently presented with a distinguished award as a “Forever Friend of Tarabans.”
The honour was conferred during the 2025 Taraba Day celebration in the Federal Capital Territory, which marked the community’s end-of-year event.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Obika expressed profound gratitude to the Taraba community for the recognition. He pledged his continued commitment to supporting the interests of Tarabans both within the FCT and through legislative advocacy in the National Assembly.
Reflecting on the foundation of his political career, Hon. Obika paid tribute to the late Alhaji D.B. Usman, a son of Taraba State, whose unwavering support and backing were instrumental in his journey. “I owe the people of Taraba State a great debt,” he stated.
The Taraba community leadership commended Hon. Obika for his transformative and inclusive leadership, which rises above ethnic divides. They offered prayers for God’s protection and wisdom upon him as he continues in service.
Hon. Obika was accompanied to the event by: Hon. Kingsley Okeke; Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Alhaji Farouk Datsama; Deputy Chairman of the Labour Party FCT and other key stakeholders.
